Discontinuation of EUR 500 notes purchases/deposits

We wish to advise all our customers and the public in general that MCB Seychelles is no longer accepting purchases or deposits of EUR 500 banknotes.
In 2018, the Governing Council of the European Central Bank permanently stopped the production of EUR 500 banknote and to exclude it from the Europa series, citing concerns that this high value banknote could facilitate illicit activities.
MCB Seychelles continues to accept EUR 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 banknotes provided that they are in good condition.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Paperless initiative : Cash Deposit & Withdrawal Receipts

We wish to advise our customers and the public in general that as of Monday 15th November 2021, as part of our Paperless initiative, the bank will cease printing the A5 cash deposit receipt. Instead, the Bank will provide you with a carbonised customer copy as a receipt for cash deposits and withdrawals conducted at all MCB branches.

We assure our customers that the blue carbonised copy is a legal official document and can be used as an official reference.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
