The Mauritius Commercial Bank (Seychelles) Limited, trading under the name of MCB Seychelles has been incorporated in Seychelles since 14 March 2003. Wholly-owned subsidiary of The Mauritius Commercial Bank Limited, Mauritius, (MCB Ltd) which started business on July 01, 2003 replacing the Seychelles branches of Banque Française Commerciale Ocean Indien (BFCOI) - also wholly-owned by MCB Ltd.

This development was prompted by the sale by The Mauritius Commercial Bank Limited to Société Générale of 50% of its shareholding in BFC network with the exception of the banking services carried out in the Republic of Seychelles.
